10 Biggest Shock Signings AEW Could Make From The WWE Roster
7. The New Day
Wrestling, as we know, is not an easy job. It involves keeping yourself in prime physical condition, subjecting yourself to a life of constant travel and taking constant bumps that hurt like hell even when performed correctly. All so some opinionated pr*ck like your humble writer can reduce their achievements to a list on the internet.
Still, it’s hard not to look at The New Day, forget all the tough bits and think these guys are living a charmed life. All three are permanently over with WWE fans and get to work with their best friends.
“He loves to have fun out there,” is usually a Michael Cole euphemism for, “we’ve given him a hokey dancing gimmick so don’t expect to see him win much.” By contrast, The New Day seem to actually be enjoying themselves.
Plus, in a system that chews up and spits out so many potential stars, these future Hall-Of-Famers seem to have it all figured out. They’re better than most at getting WWE’s scripted promos and skits over in arenas.
Yes, two-thirds of the group have now had disappointing runs as world champion but honestly, would they have more luck securing a spot in AEW’s crowded main event scene?
Of anyone in WWE, The New Day boys seem to consistently be having the most fun. It would be shocking to see them walk away from that.
