At the conclusion of the main event heavyweight title match, new champ Kenny Omega was joined by frequent tag partner, Kota Ibushi, as well as new heavyweight tag champs, The Young Bucks. These four men have experienced some troubled times of late, with the friendship between the Bucks and Omega being questioned, as Kenny dedicated himself to his partner and quest for heavyweight gold.

Despite their recent tribulations, it was nothing but smiles and tears for New Japan’s most elite performers. The Bucks embraced the new IWGP champ before being joined by Ibushi. As Omega clutched his coveted title, he got on the microphone and announced that the four of them would now be known as The Golden Elite. And in true Young Bucks fashion, there's already a new shirt available.

With the Elite and Golden Lovers officially joining forces, the implications for the Bullet Club going forward are potentially huge. Cody made a brief appearance in the entryway before literally turning his back on the new group. Was Cody's statement indicative of the rest of the BC? Perhaps the two groups can coexist much like the original Elite and Bullet Club, or maybe this recent splintering will be enough to truly split the group for good.
