10 Biggest Stories From New Japan's G1 Special And What They Mean Going Forward

1. The Bullet Club Unites In Face Of Firing Squad

Following the main event, the Bullet Club celebrated Kenny’s vanquishing of Cody in the ring and on the ramp. Omega and the Bucks were even joined by the Guerrillas of Destiny -- along with their father, Haku -- but the celebration didn’t last long. In a shocking turn of events, the trio of Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Haku attacked The Elite. The vicious beatdown continued until a battered Cody made his way back to the ring.

There, Tama Tonga offered him a chair and a proverbial membership in the newly-formed Firing Squad. Kenny climbed to his knees and begged as Cody prepped to strike. Suddenly, however, Cody attacked Tama and his brother, before the chair was stolen away by Haku. With a Gun Stun crusher delivered to Cody, the Firing Squad family stood tall over the lain Bullet Club members.

While the former Guerrillas of Destiny turned their backs on their former BC cohorts, it seems their betrayal has helped strengthen the bond between all of the Bullet Club members -- including Kenny and Cody. By attempting to save Omega and the Club, Cody has found himself back in the good graces of the group. In fact, an olive branch was extended during the latest edition of Being the Elite, when Cody joined the group for a “family dinner” later in the night. While sharing some Hardee’s chicken tenders, Cody made clear his desire to exact revenge on the Tongan brothers -- and his devotion to the Bullet Club with Kenny Omega as its leader.
