3 Huge Title Changes At AEW Redemption 2026 (AEW News)
Three titles changed hands at AEW Redemption last night.
While the big story coming out of AEW Redemption last night was Will Ospreay leaving the Death Riders, fending off their attack on Kenny Omega, only to then be dropped with the One Winged Angel by Kenny, there was also the small matter of three title changes.
The biggest of these changes saw Willow Nightingale finally win the AEW Women's Championship, dethroning Thekla in 17 minutes. Despite Skye Blue interference, Willow was able to get the better of the Toxic Spider, countering a Thekla stomp into a backslide to get the 1-2-3 - nicely setting Nightingale up for a match against Mercedes Moné at All In next month.
In the match before that, Andrade El Idolo got the better of Mark Davis, putting the Australian bruiser away with the DM to become the new AEW National Champion, marking El Idolo's first piece of gold from either of his two AEW spells. And in the first title switch of Redemption, it was Maya World - on her 24th birthday, no less - getting the somewhat surprise win over Hikaru Shida, turning a fallaway slam into a pinning combination to become the new AEW TBS Champion.
In other Redemption title matches, Kyle Fletcher retained the AEW International Championship against Bandido, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage retained the AEW Tag Team Championships against Claudio Castagnoli and PAC, and the main event saw Kenny Omega retain the AEW World Championship against Kevin Knight. Elsewhere, 'Speedball' Mike Bailey won a six-way ladder match to become the number one contender for Fletcher's International Championship, the Young Bucks defeated Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay, the Dogs were victorious over Jay White and Juice Robinson in a double chain match, and Chris Jericho and his Painmaker persona were able to get Tommaso Ciampa to submit after bringing a drill into play.
