With news breaking earlier this month that Sheamus was on his way out of WWE after 19 years, the Celtic Warrior has now made his first public comments on his situation.

Adam Glyn of Adam's Apple grabbed some time with Sheamus at an airport recently, to which the four-time WWE World Champion said he's enjoying having some time off, that he's taken his wife to Paris, has had the chance to visit family in Dublin, and that he's been enjoying working out, currently in the best shape of his life.

For clarification, Sheamus also confirmed that he would be going by the S. Farrelly ring name from here on out, as and when he can lace up his boots elsewhere.

When asked specifically about his WWE exit, the Irish powerhouse simply said "some circumstances came up," before switching the conversation to how he's now been able to "kind of restructure" his life and has had a chance to catch up on birthdays and the like.

Finally, when the topic of famously never winning the Intercontinental Championship came up, Sheamus said he had no regrets from his WWE run and that he's had "an amazing career".

News of Sheamus' shocking WWE departure broke at the start of this month, with it soon becoming apparent that WWE had offered the veteran a "restructured" deal to remain with the company; a restructured deal that Sheamus turned down. In terms of free agency, it was recently reported that he's expected to remain under contract with WWE until October 1st. After that, the 48-year-old will be free to crack skulls wherever he fancies, with mixed signals currently as to whether he'll land in AEW down the line.
