10 Biggest Stories From NJPW's Destruction Events (And What They Mean Going Forward)

9. Best Friends Rile Up Killer Elite Squad

The Best Friends of Beretta and Chuckie T had maybe their strongest showing yet during the Destruction tour. In Hiroshima, along with Will Ospreay, they were able to overcome Kota Ibushi and the Bullet Club duo of Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi. Unfortunately, in Beppo, the tag team lost to the Killer Elite Squad duo of Davey Boy Smith, Jr. and Lance Archer. However, the final night in Kobe saw The Best Friends get their win back against K.E.S., leaving the teams tied.

Overall, Chuckie T and Beretta had a strong showing for the tour, but with one win apiece between The Best Friends and K.E.S., perhaps a third match between the two teams will happen down the line — maybe as early as King of Pro-Wrestling in October.

Furthermore, Smith and Archer are surely hoping to earn another shot at the Heavyweight Tag titles which they lost at January's Wrestle Kingdom 12. Meanwhile, Beretta and Chuckie could leapfrog their way into a title opportunity against the Young Bucks by going two for three against the former champs, K.E.S.
