10 Biggest Stories From NJPW's Destruction Events (And What They Mean Going Forward)

4. Tetsuya Naito Teases New Los Ingobernables Member

In Beppu, Tetsuya Naito faced off with the fearsome Minoru Suzuki, and while he initially seemed "tranquilo," perhaps Naito should have been more wary. Minoru dominated most of the encounter as the two men brawled in and out of the ring. It wasn’t until the match's end that Naito finally found his footing when he countered a piledriver into a Destino for his first near fall. After a powerbomb and another Destino, Naito finally put Suzuki away.

However, the real story came after the match when Naito talked to the press about having the “courage to accept change,” adding he would “leave it up to everyone to imagine what exactly” he meant by that. Surely, the change he referred to was the addition of a new member to LIJ.

In a piece for Tokyo Sports, the group's leader further elaborated that a new member was not as a replacement for the injured Hiromu Takahashi but was at the former Junior Heavyweight Champion’s urging. Just last month Naito toured with CMLL in Mexico — perhaps doing some recruiting while there. But the question remains, who will join the ranks of the Ingobernables and exactly when will they be revealed?
