The Asylum was fiercely behind Cody throughout the night's main event, but the defending champion quickly lost the first fall. Trapped in the King's Lynn Cloverleaf, Cody tapped in order to avoid significant injury -- a wise decision which allowed him to charge out of the one-minute rest period as Nick Aldis already showed signs of overexertion.
The second fall quickly devolved into a wild brawl before Brandi Rhodes stepped into the fray, but she was confronted and run off by Nick's "insurance policy," Kamilla Kaine. Aldis then launched from the top rope and crashed through a ringside table as Cody escaped harm. The champion immediately capitalized with a Cross Rhodes to capture the second fall.
Aldis regained control of the match, dodging a moonsault before connecting with a jumping tombstone. Cody escaped another Cloverleaf when his boot slipped off and he cradled Aldis, but the challenger shifted his weight to reverse the pin and capture the shocking victory.
Already, Aldis is set for an unspecified title defense at November's WrestleCade in North Carolina. Meanwhile, Cody mentioned "a transition to a new role in pro-wrestling" on Instagram. Perhaps, following ALL IN's success, he now desires a spot behind-the-scenes, much like his father's transition to head booker of Jim Crockett Promotions and later WCW.
