8. Barrett Brown Defeats Laredo Kid In High-Flying Action

The exhibition bout between Laredo Kid and Barrett Brown was the last match to be added to Sunday's card. Still, the two junior heavyweights impressed with non-stop, fast-paced action consisting of brutal strikes, innovative maneuvers and spectacular dives.

Laredo Kid hit not only a springboard moonsault onto the floor, but also a 450 splash off the apron. Meanwhile, Brown retaliated with a suicide dive of his own and a Canadian Destroyer-like DDT. In the end, Laredo Kid attempted one too many high-risk moves as he missed a corkscrew splash from the top rope. The misstep allowed Brown to capitalize with a vicious running knee strike to pick up the win.

While the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship has remained vacant since last year, and no plans to revive the title have yet to be announced, Sunday's match proved the NWA would be wise to bring it back into the fold. In fact, Brown was the most recent holder of the belt before it was vacated following Corgan's takeover.

And despite a loss, Laredo Kid cemented his place as a top contender for the gold, should it return.
