3. The Monster Matanza Gets Squashed

Ever since his introduction in Season 2's Aztec Warfare (and many shadowy vignettes tracing back to the early days of Season 1), Matanza has been virtually unstoppable. He had a stranglehold on the Lucha Underground Championship, battered Rey Mysterio, and powerbombed El Dragon Azteca Jr. through the bleachers.

Hell, the last time we saw him in Season 3, he hurled Azteca through a steel cage.

That made it all the more astonishing when Pentagon Dark defended his title against the Monster in the second episode of this season, basically squashing him. Matanza was outwrestled and outclassed by the black-clad champion, and put away in embarrassing fashion.

Matanza has since regained some of his fierce intensity, but it was a genuine shock to see the once-invincible bruiser dispatched by the champion with such ease.
