10 Biggest Tag Team Specialists In Wrestling History
3. Bobby Eaton
To many people, Bobby Eaton is the consummate tag team wrestler and one of the most underrated workers of all-time. Eaton was no great shake on the microphone, but he was close to flawless between the ropes, and a real master of the art of tag team wrestling. “Beautiful Bobby” knew exactly where to be at any given time, and he served as one half of a tag team many consider the greatest in professional wrestling history.
The Midnight Express are an institution, and whether he was working alongside Dennis Condrey or Stan Lane, Eaton was always at the heart of their best moments. The Midnights’ decades-long feud with the Rock ‘N Roll Express is timeless, and their list of accolades is endless. Under Jim Cornette’s management, the Midnight Express competed against legendary teams like the Road Warriors and Fantastics on a regular basis, and quickly became their era’s defining heel tag team.
Eaton’s tag team excellence extends beyond his most famous unit, however. Eaton found further success in tremendous tag teams with Steven Regal and fellow tag wrestling genius Arn Anderson later in his career, and has allegedly amassed more than 50 tag team title reigns throughout his career. Few tag wrestlers, if any, have ever been able to switch tag partners so effortlessly without sacrificing success, which is testament to Eaton’s skill as a worker.
