10 Biggest Tag-Teams That Never Wrestled For WWE

8. Minnesota Wrecking Crew

For 12 years (1969-1981), Gene and Ole Anderson teamed together in the NWA. Collectively known as the Minnesota Wrecking Crew, the team was actually born out of an earlier incarnation that featured Lars Anderson. Once he decided to step away from the ring and retire, Ole stepped into the breach and took his place.

The list of accomplishments for the Wrecking Crew is phenomenal, Gene and Ole captured a whole host of championships in several different promotions during their run. In companies like Georgia Championship Wrestling, Mid-Atlantic and elsewhere, the pair were incredibly successful.

Later, Ole would continue the team with Arn Anderson, although that team never lasted quite as long as his association with Gene did. It's somewhat surprising that the WWF never came calling for the Wrecking Crew at some point, because they were clearly a tremendous team.

Maybe there was loyalty to the NWA there, or perhaps the opportunity just never came up, but it would have been something to see Gene and Ole in the WWF during the 1970's.
