10 Biggest Tag-Teams That Never Wrestled For WWE

3. Sting & Lex Luger

Most wrestling fans over a certain age will recall the many brilliant matches Sting and Lex Luger worked as a team. Occasionally, they were also rivals on opposite sides of the ring, but they had a nice level of chemistry when working from the same corner.

It shouldn't surprise anyone to learn that they didn't team in the WWF/WWE, because Luger had long since retired from active wrestling by the time Sting finally signed on with the organisation. In WCW, it was a different story, and an incendiary tag match from SuperBrawl 1991 against The Steiner Brothers (there's that name again) is must-see action.

First teaming in 1988 when WCW was known as Jim Crockett Promotions, Luger and Sting were simply two top babyfaces that proved a good fit. After WCW had went to the wire, the pair even bonded in the short-lived World Wrestling All-Stars, but never worked together in the WWF/WWE.

As former WCW World Tag-Team Champions, that's a great loss to those who strictly followed the WWF and didn't really watch the competition.
