10 Biggest Talking Points From WWE SmackDown (Aug 9)

7. Impromptu Showdown

Eva Marie couldn't compete this week, but a frustrated Becky Lynch said that she came for a fight and wasn't leaving until she got one. That drew out Alexa Bliss, who challenged Becky and told her she wanted to make her Smackdown debut by knocking out the brand's top woman pick.

The match wasn't much of a match, at least not for the fans watching on television. It started during the commercial, and Bliss had the heat when Smackdown returned. Becky fought back and started making her comeback, but just then, Eva Marie's entrance started, with her voiceover announcing that she was ready to compete. Becky was distracted, allowing Bliss to attack her and hit the Twisted Bliss for the win.

It's great to see Bliss get her Smackdown career off to a good start, but the whole thing felt like a backdrop for Eva Marie. Furthermore, the fact that only Becky was distracted by Eva's entrance suggests collusion between her and Bliss, which means they could be partnering up. That likely won't do Bliss any long-term favors.
