10 Biggest Unsung Heroes Of WWE's Current Era
1. Seth Rollins
Not many people were convinced that the Monday Night Messiah gimmick was going to work. Seth Rollins had just flopped as the top babyface of the company in 2019, having critically derided main events, tanking his public image on Twitter and not showing the spark that made him such an incredible performer in 2018. He turned heel as a necessity because of the heat he was getting, and the gimmick he was given seemed just like a CM Punk knockoff.
Fast forward to a year later, and Seth Rollins is once again one of the most valuable performers that WWE has on their payroll. Since embracing the camp side of his new character on the microphone and leaning into dastardly melodramatic tactics in his matches, Rollins has become a genuinely detested heel over the course of his feud with the Mysterio family.
His matches are fantastic, he’s despicable on the mic, and he’s absurdly captivating to watch right now. Rollins hasn’t gotten the full credit he deserves for making stipulations like the Eye for an Eye match genuinely work, and he should be held up as one of the most unsung heroes the company has right now.
