10 Biggest Unsung Wrestling Heroes Of 2020
4. Dominik Mysterio - WWE
Even with (or maybe because of) the prestige of being Rey Mysterio’s son, no one expected Dominik to appear on the WWE scene with the level of in-ring ability he possessed.
Going twenty-five minutes in a street fight for his first ever match, Dominik didn’t just adequately walk through his spots while Seth Rollins did the work, but actively held his own, with the two managing to tell an immersive story in a time frame that some veteran superstars would have trouble filling. Dominik appeared instantly confident in his athleticism throughout his rivalry with Rollins, battling admirably against the hood of his ring attire to deliver some impressive high-flying manoeuvres and sound psychology.
In a rare move, WWE appear to be attempting caution in presenting Dominik, booking him in matches without overexposing his faults and using Rey as his spokesman and manager. After being drafted to WWE’s new flagship show SmackDown, complete with a hoodless costume, the future looks bright for Dominik. The only thing that could stand in the way of his gradual rise to the top is the apparent tease of a feud on the 27 November SmackDown with perpetual water-treader, King Corbin.
