The WWE Creative team always gets a lot of flack from fans. But it's one of the most stressful jobs imaginable. They have the duty of scripting all those hours and hours of television every week, while trying to find places for every relevant performer, while attempting to establish new characters, maintain the popularity of established characters, and attempting to tie each week of content into the next one in one consistent logical narrative. Now imagine trying to write a wrestling show, when you're previous television credits are sitcoms and soap operas. Then imagine getting a good grasp on the wrestling business, but having to turn in your work for approval from Vince McMahon, a man known for his high standards, lack of patience, and erratic impulsiveness. You see why these people would be under a lot of pressure. Now they have to help promote the Network by writing explosive stories and characters on an almost weekly basis in order to get people hooked on the WWE product. They have the job of upping the quality of WWE television to such an insane level that it comes as no surprise that they have failed in recent months. How can you possibly meet the high personal standards of Vinnie Mack, while writing a cohesive story that develops organically over several weeks? You can't. These writers have guns held against their heads every week to make every show unmissable, and now that WWE needs people watching and subscribing more than ever, expect the creative team to be holding the guns themselves soon.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
