Truth be told, there are plenty of ways for fans in the UK to get the Network already. But those of us who aren't computer savvy, or just unwilling to lie about our country of residence, have a right to be pretty frustrated by now. As you'll recall the Network was originally supposed to launch in the UK in early 2015. But after U.S. subscription rates fell short of WWE's target of 1 million, they decided to push the UK Launch forward to October 1st 2014. That never happened. Instead they promised us an announcement on November 1st. Not the launch! Just an announcement. November 1st WWE announced that the Network would launch Monday November 3rd. And then on that fateful day WWE suddenly scrapped the launch - without explanation - mere minutes before it was set to occur. It was a PR disaster. The popular belief is that WWE's UK Broadcaster Sky TV stepped in and prevented WWE from launching the Network. Sky has been airing WWE PPVS for over 25 years (and has already signed an exclusive deal to continue broadcasting WWE events through to 2020). So they probably wouldn't be too pleased if WWE suddenly offered those events themselves for a lower price. This has led to speculation that when the WWE Network finally does launch in the UK, live Pay Per View events won't be included. Would UK fans still be willing to subscribe if the package didn't include new PPVs?
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
