10 Biggest WCW Botches Ever

5. Buff Bagwell Breaks His Neck (WCW Thunder - 4/24/1998)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wsg-MzO_QwI Around the 8:30 mark of the above video, Rick Steiner hits Buff Bagwell with a top-rope bulldog that he awkwardly takes, suffering a broken neck. The botch, however, extends far past the injury. Buff Bagwell's neck injury opened the door for the introduction of Buff's mother Judy into WCW, as updates regarding Bagwell's tenuous condition post-surgery. Of course, when Bagwell returned, he turned heel on his mom and re-joined the New World Order, befriending Scott Steiner - aka the brother of Rick, the man who injured him in the first place. This led to Judy Bagwell siding with Rick, as well as later wrestling herself, winning titles, and of course, being the prize in a pole match. This is what happens when one botch begets a series of very unfortunate events.
