For the first ever Gift of the Gods Champion, Big Ryck, Aerostar, Bengala, King Cuerno, Sexy Star, Jack Evans, and Fenix all earned gold medallions to compete in this event. Well, I think Big Ryck bought his, but he's the only exception.

There's too much to recap because the nature of this makes it pretty hard to do. A couple of key themes were that Big Ryck was the big mean guy that everyone had to team up on to neutralize and Aerostar had the biggest dive of the night when he dropped from a very high perch onto Bengala and Fenix. This was one of the more lucha styled matches so there was a ton of athleticism and creativity.

Fenix ultimately won this match, which gives him the opportunity to trade in his title for a shot at the LU Championship as long as he gives Dario Cueto a week's notice before he does so. It's a guaranteed title shot and a potential reign as the top guy in Lucha Underground. The medallions then have to get re-earned again for the next Gift of the Gods Champion to be crowned.
