10 Biggest Winners (& Losers) Of WWE Draft 2021
8. LOSERS: Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez
From a shining example of the positives of the draft, to the bottom of the barrel.
At the back end of 2020 and early 2021, WWE finally seemed to be all in on Crews. A phenomenally gifted athlete who always lacked the personality to become a mainstay, Crews turned heel and leant into his Nigerian heritage. After a few insensitive teething problems, Crews embarked on the best run of his WWE tenure and even defeated current WWE Champion, Big E at WrestleMania to claim the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
But since then, Crews seems to have drifted in the mid ard, endlessly facing Big E in rematch after rematch until he transitioned into a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura. Needlessly dropping the belt to the 'King of Strong Style', Crews went on a losing streak to his rival and never recovered.
All that good work, gone within a few months.
Drafted back to RAW after only a year on the blue brand, Crews could slot in as a challenger to Priest, but he doesn't have anywhere near the credibility to seem like a threat.
The fact that he was seen mooching around Reggie and the 24/7 Championship is a bad omen for Crews and his sidekick. What do you think the odds are on a split and absolutely no follow up?
