10 Biggest Women’s Firsts In WWE Matches
3. Charlotte Vs. Sasha Banks, Hell In A Cell - Hell In A Cell 2016
If any two women deserve to make history twice in one match, it’s Charlotte and Sasha Banks.
This match was not only the first women's Hell In A Cell match, but it was also the first time a women's match headlined a WWE pay-per-view. Thanks Hunter. Perhaps containing the most high spots in a women’s WWE match so far, Charlotte and Sasha built the drama early, with Sasha taking a powerbomb through the announce table before they even made it inside the cage.
Sasha played the valiant hometown babyface to perfection. She took a beating from Charlotte, but still managed to come back, and it looked as if the match was going to be the perfect hometown hero story. But while the match delivered, it was the finish which fell flat, as Charlotte killed Sasha's fairytale and regained her title to a WTF reaction from the crowd.
Bad booking decisions aside, this one stands tall as a women’s match which lived up to its hype and the stipulation, as well as the main event billing.
