1. Royal Rumble Winner Gets To Main Event WrestleMania
Whenever somebody wins the Royal Rumble, you'll hear Jim Ross, Michael Cole or whoever the main announcer is yelling about how that person is going to WrestleMania and they'll be in the main event. That's not true. The first year that the "Rumble winner gets to main event WrestleMania in WWE Title match" was in 1993. That was Yokozuna. He did get to main event that year. The 1994 Rumble was a tie, but Bret Hart did main event as one of the winners. As mentioned earlier, WWE likes to say that other matches on the show are the main event, which is really confusing for the viewer. Here's the listing of Royal Rumble winners that did not get to wrestle in the last match at WrestleMania: Steve Austin (1997), Vince McMahon (1999), Rey Mysterio (2006), The Undertaker (2007), John Cena (2008), Edge (2010), Alberto Del Rio (2011) and Sheamus (2012). In some cases, runner ups in the Royal Rumble actually got to main event instead of the winner. It's weird. Now that WWE only has one major World Heavyweight Title they will most likely have the Rumble winner headline the show every year, but it's far from a lock. In the past, it wasn't always even though they want you to think otherwise. Don't be mad about WWE lying to you, wrestling fans. They always have and always will. It's not a big deal.
