10 Biggest WrestleMania Regrets WWE Must Have

2. The Miz Main-Eventing WrestleMania XXVII

Poor Miz. He just can€™t seem to catch a break, can he? Even as WWE Champion and a WrestleMania main-eventer, he€™s looked down on. Miz had to go through a lot to prove himself as a credible performer in WWE. Hated for being a reality star who crossed over into professional wrestling, he has been saddled with dumb gimmicks, attire and catchphrases, and has been hazed mercilessly by many people including JBL. So when he won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton, it might€™ve finally been his time to prove all of those people wrong. Unfortunately, the Miz main-eventing WrestleMania XXVII was wrong on many, many levels. For starters, he was not the biggest heel in the company at the time; that titled unequivocally belonged to CM Punk, who was excellent at drawing the right kind of negative reaction from the crowd. Punk was saddled with a match with Randy Orton, which was a good match in hindsight. Secondly, the took place after the Undertaker€™s bout with Triple H, which, once again, was the match of the night, proving that the Undertaker, like wine, gets better with age (at least at WrestleMania). If Miz€™s match had taken place before the Undertaker-Triple H match, then maybe it would€™ve had a better reception. Third, and most importantly, Miz was basically the third man in the conversation; John Cena was more concerned with The Rock than he was the Miz. Rocky€™s involvement at WrestleMania seemed to be the bigger selling point, and his involvement in the main event match was especially significant. After all, the initial match between Cena and Miz ended in a count-out, which was a clear message that the end wouldn€™t be clean. The Rock restarted the match, made it basically No Holds Barred, and attacked Cena, allowing Miz to win in an unclean fashion. Instead of building the Miz into an actual main-event caliber star, he took a backseat to the Rock-Cena feud that would carry over into WrestleMania 28. It was a disappointing booking decision that left everyone except for the Rock worse off, especially Miz. It€™s for these reasons that WWE must regret doing what they did. Miz could€™ve been a much bigger star if he got a clean win over Cena without the Rock getting involved.
