10 Biggest WWE Creative Mistakes Of 2019 (So Far)
3. Shane McMahon's Mega-Push
See: slide six's Baron Corbin introduction. It's just as applicable here. You might appreciate Shane McMahon's heel work (this writer does, intermittently), but you're in the minority.
For most fans, the venom spat at 'The Best in the World' isn't because he has riled them up through effective stooging, but because they don't want to watch him anymore. That's a problem, particularly with him clogging up so much airtime on Raw and SmackDown every single week.
Shane was onscreen for the entire opening half-hour of SD's 11 June episode. He clocks similar stints twice a week on both shows, and the way he's presented is as troublesome as how often he's presented.
Cast your minds back to Super ShowDown, where McMahon dominated at least 75% of his bout with Roman Reigns. Think about how ridiculous that is for a second. A 49-year-old part-time wrestler who can't even execute a convincing worked triangle hold didn't just beat the company golden boy, but destroyed him. Sure, Reigns will likely have the final say, but who could possibly invest in such implausible tripe?
The audience needs a break from Shane McMahon, and if the reports are true, it sounds like the WWE roster do too.
