10 Biggest WWE Creative Mistakes Of 2019

8. Not Being Progressive With King Of The Ring

It may not seem like it after that previous entry, but this writer is fond of Baron Corbin. He's wrongfully disrespected by many when he's actually not that bad, and he shouldn't be roasted because he's one of Vinnie Mac's favourite heel toys. It's not his fault he's being pushed into tired territory.

Territory that WWE should've realised a long time ago doesn't really work out.

2019's 'King Of The Ring' offered something fresh. Names like Andrade, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens and Corbin himself were all favourites beforehand, and it seemed likely WWE would use the tourney as an excuse to push one into the main event scene. Not quite. They wanted another try at the cosplay king instead.

Try as he might to make it work, 'King' Corbin looks like a goof. Worse, he's one of the top names newcomers to the product see when they tune into SmackDown on FOX. If only WWE had realised that crowning someone 'King' doesn't mean they have to dress like it's Halloween all year round.
