10 Biggest WWE Disappointments Of 2019 (So Far)

9. KUSHIDA

The hard-hitting KUSHIDA ended his New Japan Pro Wrestling tenure in the most glorious of fashion, exiting at the hands of company ace Hiroshi Tanahashi in a superb contest of Day 3 of Road to New Beginning. Since alighting in Florida, his most high profile match has been a TV taping victory over Kassius Ohno - also his first for the company.

Since then, the former MMA man hasn't featured on a single TakeOver, nor, in fact, done anything of note whatsoever in the States. This is hardly KUSHIDA's fault. Are WWE are putting him through the once-mandatory bedding-in period, as they prepare him for prominence? And if so: why? KENTA was introduced as a ready-made star, and Shinsuke Nakamura made himself one on night one for those unfamiliar. NXT has already proven that its audience doesn't need to adapt to Japan's top talent, so what exactly is the deal with KUSHIDA?

It could also be the case that the 'Time Splitter' is simply too good for the time being. Is there room for one of the finest Super Juniors of the past ten years amongst NXT's already overflowing talents - and will inevitable graduations see him finally receive the nod? We can only hope: he's too good to waste.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
