10 Biggest WWE Disappointments Of 2019 (So Far)
8. The WrestleMania 35 Main Event
WrestleMania 35's progressive and legitimately exciting main event was on a hiding for nothing the moment it became clear the show was going to run longer than most trans-Pacific flights.
As much as everybody wanted Becky Lynch and co. to succeed in the show's first-ever all-women's headliner, they simply could not combat the extreme fatigue inevitable after seven straight hours of wrestling. Kofi Kingston had sent New Jersey into raptures when he put Daniel Bryan away about a week earlier; there was no repeat of the glorious scenes as the curtain fell on the 'Lass Kicker' raising both belts, with most of the MetLife ten winks into forty.
The botched finish, which saw Becky just about manage to roll up Ronda Rousey hardly helped. Those who were still alert weren't necessarily sure that the match had even ended, let alone that their hero had done the deed. What should have been one of the most important moments in wrestling history was ultimately sabotaged by misfortune, and the company's own excess.
