10 Biggest WWE NXT Failures

4. American Wolves

Independent wrestling isn€™t as big a scene for tag team wrestling as it should be, because it€™s always cheaper for a promoter to book one person than two. However, for a long time now, The American Wolves have been considered one of the best tag teams in the world. Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards have teamed together off-and-on since 2008, and both separately and together have a list of accomplishments a mile long. They both have a hard hitting, MMA influenced style and are right at home in the ring opposite the likes of a Daniel Bryan or a Seth Rollins. Last year, they took part in a week long tryout at the WWE Performance Center, and even challenged for the NXT Tag Team Championships as €œThe American Pitbulls€ Derek Billington and John Cahill. While they put on a competitive and entertaining match against The Ascension, they were not signed to WWE developmental deals. There are numerous rumours about why they weren€™t signed, and they range from Triple H being unhappy about a blown spot in the match to Davey Richards being unwilling to spend any time in developmental. No matter the reason, two months after their NXT appearance aired, they debuted for TNA as €œThe Wolves€ where they are two time TNA Tag Team Champions.
