10 Biggest WWE Success Stories Of 2023
8. Cody Rhodes
The fact Cody Rhodes managed to return from injury looking better than ever, win the whole damn Royal Rumble on his first night back, and then main event the biggest WrestleMania of all time is already enough to class 2023 as an impressive year for 'The American Nightmare'.
But what really cements the star's year as one of the company's biggest success stories is the fact that WWE were able to keep this main event loser feeling like a bona fide megastar in the months that followed that disappointing end to 'The Showcase of the Immortals'.
The heartbreaking double-whammy of Cody not only failing to 'Finish the Story' but then being utterly destroyed by Brock Lesnar on the Raw after 'Mania 39 felt like a potential beginning of the end for this white-hot hero.
Proving that this 'Nightmare' was far from over, though, Rhodes continued to show up, went to war with 'The Beast' on three brutal occasions, and consistently blew the roof of off every arena he graced.
He may not have got his hands on the title his father never won (yet!), but the one-time AEW EVP has still remarkably found a way to remain arguably the most popular babyface on the roster.
