10 Biggest WWE Upset Wins

10. Owen Hart Pins Bret Hart - WrestleMania 10

WWE.comWWE.comBret Hart didn't want to wrestle his brother Owen at WrestleMania 10. He only did it because he was forced to if he wanted to get a WWE Title shot later in the night. For Owen, it was the biggest match of his life. He was just a midcarder that really hadn't left his mark in WWE, so for him it was a chance to show just how good he was against his more successful brother. Since Bret was a main eventer and multiple time WWE Champion by that point in his career the expectation was that he would beat Owen clean and then move on to the main event of the show against Yokozuna or Lex Luger. Nobody thought Owen was going to go over. Bret didn't lose matches to guys at his level. It's just how it was. Even when I was 13 years old at the time of this match I knew that. They had a technical wrestling classic with nearfalls and near submissions through the match. There were times when it looked like Owen was going to tap out or maybe get pinned. He kept on fighting as the heel with something to prove. The finish was tremendous with Bret on Owen's shoulders. He went for the victory, but Owen countered it, put his hands on the mat and held Bret down for the three count. Biggest win of Owen's life. Huge moment. What an upset! The booking was brilliant. It set up a major storyline for the rest of 1994 with Owen jealous of his brother and trying to beat him for the WWE Title. He couldn't do it, but he did beat him at WrestleMania 10 in what was one of the biggest upsets in wrestling history.
