10 Biggest WWE WrestleMania 34 Missed Opportunities

2. Wasting The Streak

The flippancy with which WWE discarded Asuka's undefeated streak is infuriating.

It's not that Charlotte Flair wasn't a credible victor, but the timing was off. Such angles shouldn't be concluded until they're on the verge of running their course. This wasn't the case for Asuka's streak, which wasn't even close to getting old, and still had months' of marketability left. Unfortunately, it looks like WWE felt otherwise, and now, one of their most bankable characters' biggest selling point is gone.

Charlotte should receive an almighty rub from this, but said rub would've been far greater had this come at the end of a long, protracted build. Instead, she felled 'The Empress Of Tomorrow' at the first time of asking.

To top it all off, WWE got the tone all wrong. It was a shocking outcome, but the response was more "... what the hell?' than "HOLY S***!", and having a smiley-happy Asuka effectively bow to 'The Queen' afterwards made light of a huge moment. As the women's division's most dangerous killer, she should've wanted to tear Charlotte's arm from its socket, not hug her, but alas.
