10 Biggest WWE WrestleMania Letdowns

1. Bret Hart Vs. Vince McMahon (WrestleMania XXVI)

Despite the impossibility of it happening back then, Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon would have been something else had it occurred sometime between 1997-2000. After that, Bret was finished as a top-tier worker and a later stroke in 2002 left him unable to bump.

Ill-advised though it was to bring the Montreal Screwjob up again, WWE decided they had to book the match after fully mending fences with Hart in 2010.

The result was a lopsided brawl at WrestleMania XXVI that almost accidentally had fans in Glendale, Arizona rooting for McMahon. Again, Bret couldn't bump around during the match, so the onus was on Vince to do all of the work and take a savage beating.

Perhaps that's all the match needed to be, but it dragged on and on for 11 minutes without any hint of back-and-forth drama. Seeing Bret stumble around the ring was upsetting to longtime fans, and WWE's attempt to put a bow on the Screwjob story ended up being the final nail in the incident's coffin in terms of feeling worthwhile.
