“Never say never” is a common saying uttered in the strange and fascinating world of pro wrestling. It’s insinuating you can’t ever rule anything out to happen. Look to Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart hugging his long-time rival Shawn Michaels in the middle of the ring on Raw or Brock Lesnar F5-ing The Undertaker’s Streak away at WrestleMania XXX or Vince McMahon appearing on the final episode of Nitro to announce he bought WCW.

The wrestling business is full of strange occurrences and accidental happenings. Bizarre chance events happened plenty in WWE (take everyone of Triple H’s matches on PPV in 2005 being against Evolution members or all of Triple H’s PPV matches in 2003 being centred on him competing against a major WCW talent for the Big Gold Belt or Triple H getting the biggest push of his career after hooking up with the boss’ daughter). But there were coincidences and absurd stats and facts aplenty in its competitor World Championship Wrestling too.

WCW was categorized as “Where the big boys play”, even though it had the best cruiserweight division in the United States in the ‘90s. And remarkable coincidences and circumstances happened for some of those ‘big boys’ and cruiserweights.

Let’s look at 10 bizarre strange happenings and odd statistics that occurred in WCW:
