2. It’s Possible To Suplex Somebody Against Their Will

Have you ever tried to perform a standard, vertical suplex on somebody? Go ahead, give it a try.

Actually, don’t try it on anybody, ever. It’s really dangerous.

It’s very difficult to do a move like this on somebody if they’re not helping you at least slightly, unless you’re somebody like Mark Henry. Essentially, the person taking the move has to jump and be guided into a safe landing by the attacker, keeping their body as straight as possible while they are in motion.

This is taken to extremes during a delayed vertical suplex, as the person held upside down has to work to keep their feet pointed directly upwards to maintain the illusion of the move. The same principle applies to variations such as Goldberg’s Jackhammer.

Even though some, such as a German suplex, are technically possible without assistance, to do so is even more dangerous, as all of the impact on this move is on the head and neck. Not only does the assistance on this move make it look better, it’s much safer too.

But remember: don’t try to do it.
