10 Bizarre Wrestling Movies You Must Watch

1. Jushin Liger: Fist Of Thunder (1995)

Fun fact: Japanese wrestling legend Jushin Thunder Liger was originally a tool to promote an anime of the same name. It was a superhero show about a young man that could transform into a demon to fight evil; that's what's up with Liger's admittedly odd look, if you've ever wondered.

The cartoon is now relatively obscure, but Liger is an undisputed legend who's still adding notches to his belt after nearly 30 years (ask Tyler Breeze).

In the late 1990's, someone realized that the popularity of the wrestler far eclipsed the demonic anime hero, and hit upon a brilliant idea: why not use the popularity of everyone's favorite junior heavyweight to promote the superhero franchise?

The film stars the real Liger, as himself, basically, a pro wrestler having recurring nightmares of transforming into a demon. During the film's climactic match, Liger's opponent turns into a big blue monster, and he is forced to transform as well in order to defeat it.

This may not be nice to say, but if you don't want to see Jushin Thunder Liger physically transform into a demon to have a Power Ranger fight with a turquoise ersatz Predator then I don't think we can be friends.
