10 Bizarre Wrestling Movies You Must Watch

8. Russell Madness (2015)

Hey, kids!

You liked Air Bud and all its interminable sequels, right? They taught us that dogs can excel at all kinds of sports that they should be 100% terrible at thanks to their physiology, so why not wrestling? That's the philosophy that underpins Russell Madness, the Jack Russell terrier pro wrestling movie that no one asked for.

It's a tale as old as time: a homeless puppy is adopted by a suburban white family and their talking monkey in a satin jacket, and he becomes a YouTube sensation by beating up adult human professional wrestlers. The main villain is played by Johnny Mundo, and this was the big project he was working on immediately before signing with Lucha Underground.

This is what Johnny Mundo was doing just before he signed with Lucha Underground, and I want nothing more than to imagine that Dario Underground didn't even remember John Morrison from WWE, he's just a huge fan of the Air Bud franchise.

Incidentally, the title was originally supposed to be "RussellMania". I know they didn't want to risk a lawsuit, but I feel kind of bad for the Air Bud people. RussellMania is a much better title, and no one was going to confuse this for a WWE production.

After all, the dog doesn't even lose to John Cena at the end.

Immortal Dialogue: "The strongest tag team is family!"
