10 Bizarre WWE Experiments You Totally Don't Remember
9. Eric Bischoff And Paul Heyman
"Executive director" is a combination of words boring and corporate enough to send anyone to sleep immediately.
Wrestling fans were used to the narcoleptic effects of the phrase in 2019 when it was announced that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff were being brought in as Executive Directors of Raw and SmackDown respectively.
Heyman was essentially given the book for Raw, although he still had to run his creative decisions through Vince McMahon. Even with the old man's input, Heyman was instrumental in the elevation of Drew McIntyre to the main event.
As for Bischoff, well, he didn't really do much of anything. It was reported that he would serve as a liaison between SmackDown and Fox, but the man himself said that part of the job was overexaggerated by the press.
When fans heard that the men behind ECW and WCW were helping run WWE's two biggest shows, their curiosity was piqued. Unfortunately, the changes both men made were minimal and both were out of their jobs after a year.
It made headlines at the time, but this weird Attitude Era crossover has been lost to the mists of time.
