10 Bizarre WWE Experiments You Totally Don't Remember

4. Promo Graphics

WWE is still in the honeymoon phase of its love affair with Augmented Reality (AR), as it gets busted out for most big entrances on Premium Live Events.

A giant Becky Lynch head. Matt Riddle's flip-flop birds. A massive Roman Reigns throwing his head back like he's thrusting. All good stuff.

Before the AR era fully began, WWE experimented with putting images on screen for the audience at home.

This mostly took the form of words popping up behind wrestlers cutting selfie-style promos on their phones. The most egregious example of it however was for The Usos.

Whenever Jimmy and Jey would say the words "Uso Penitentiary" or "Locked Down" during their promos, a fake set of prison cell doors would swing across the screen and slam shut with a "Clank!" sound effect.

It was very childish and not in the slightest bit Ucey.

The promo graphics were another attempt at WWE trying to embrace modern technology and just getting it so wrong. They were wildly distracting and made the show look cheap.

The graphics closely ressembling the ones you see at bowling alleys when you get a strike certainly didn't help things.
