6. Kurt Angle – Pizza Outlet
Prime athletes promoting junk food offers is a paradox that is firmly entrenched in Western marketing. The wrestling world has no better athlete to throw into the mix than Olympic Gold Medalist and pro-wrestling legend Kurt Angle.
Like the All-American he is, sometimes Kurt relies on a pizza delivery to satisfy his hunger. Even if he does answer the door in his Olympian tracksuit to distinguish him from the culinary devoid and idle.
This, of course, is not your average fast-food drop-off. Kurt’s box rocks violently before he can carry it to his couch. Poor Angle finds his professional life intruding on his snack, when red pepper faces off against green pepper, in gloriously awful animation. Green Pepper is triumphant in the squash match and cries on Kurt’s shoulder, as Angle joins in with tears, assessing the brawl as “beautiful.”
One of the assets that has made Kurt so beloved in the wrestling community is his ability to laugh at himself, he deserves props here for turning one of the greatest moments of his life (his Olympic win) into a joke centrepiece...even if it is to promote pizza.
