10 Most Blatantly Obvious Blade Jobs In Wrestling History

10. Randy Orton - New Year's Revolution

The best time for a wrestler to blade is after a blow to the head. The reason for this is twofold: it gives him an excuse to cover his face with his hands or fall on the ground before making the cut, and it allows the cameraman a moment to focus on the opponent, allowing the blading to occur off-camera. It also, obviously, resolves the problem of the performer bleeding from a blow he is yet to receive. Despite these benefits some performers still opt to blade before the blow, resulting in some rather obvious botches. Case in point: Randy Orton. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xx4lde_1-9-2005-new-years-revolution-elimination-chamber-match_sport At 2005€™s New Year€™s Revolution, Orton was one of six superstars to participate in the Elimination Chamber match, a match notorious for featuring lots of blood. At 29:15 in the clip above, Triple H sets Orton up for a sling shot into the chamber wall. Rather than hitting the wall and then blading, Orton chooses to lead with the latter. With a move as quick as a slingshot this isn't such a bad idea, except it€™s clear from the video that Orton has some trouble getting the razor off of his wrist tape, forcing Triple H to delay the move. This is made all the more hilarious by Jim Ross yelling €œWait, wait, wait, wait€ to which Jerry €œThe King€ Lawler replies, €œThere is no waiting on the mind of The Game,€ despite the fact that Triple H is clearly stalling to give Orton time to set up his blade and make the cut. When Orton is finally slingshot into the cage, fans can easily see his right hand swipe across his forehead just before impact.

Yes, my last name is pronounced exactly as it's spelled. Just like "going to the store". ;) I am an aspiring writer currently working on my first novel, which is GOING to be awesome once it's published. (See what I did there?) I love reading, am a HUGE film buff (who welcomes all trivia challenges), and never miss a New York Giants football game. I'm an open book so if there is anything else you'd like to know about me, just ask.
