10 Blockbuster Returns WWE STILL Haven't Done Yet
1. CM Punk
WWE Backstage doesn't count.
CM Punk's contract is with FOX, not Vince McMahon. Everybody with an interest in wrestling and a working internet connection knows this. The affiliation increases the likelihood of Phil Brooks showing up on Raw, SmackDown, or pay-per-view, but only marginally. His pro wrestling return shall remain a permanent fixture on lists like this for the foreseeable future - and potentially forever.
But it's still a return that WWE hasn't pulled off since Punk walked out of the company in 2014, and still the biggest, hence why it's here.
The prospect of 'The Voice of the Voiceless' pulling on tights and lacing up his boots again becomes more fantastical with every passing month. If he does return, chances are it'll be in a non-wrestling role, though many, many bridges must be rebuilt before even cameos are possible. History shows us that Vince McMahon and family usually forgive and forget if there's money to be made, though Punk picks at the scabs of the wounds opened six years ago too often for them to close. WWE Backstage is but a Band-Aid.
