10 Blockbuster Returns WWE STILL Haven't Done Yet

Sting WWE Return

The thought of Sting ever wrestling again would have sounded ridiculous until March 2019, when the man himself claimed he'd be open to returning to WWE for the match that never was with The Undertaker. This didn't happen, though February saw PWInsider publish a story citing an internal push to use 'The Vigilante' at Super ShowDown 2020 in Saudi Arabia. This didn't happen.

Monster payday aside, the Saudi proposition was mad. Sting is a 61-year-old man who hasn't wrestled since suffering a (seemingly) career-ending neck injury while wrestling Seth Rollins in September 2015. It isn't off the table, though. At all. Stings attitude and the pre-Super ShowDown reports show this.

The WWE Cinematic Universe works in Sting's favour. The Undertaker's Boneyard Match with AJ Styles was the blueprint of a match structure that can sustain 'The Deadman's' career for years to come, keeping him relevant and credible while removing the need to take bumps. Sounds like a perfect environment for an ageing Sting.

It may not be the long-touted dream match, though the veterans would likely find a way to make it fun.
