10 Blockbuster WWE Returns That Would Improve Ratings Immediately

5. Ric Flair

Unlike the other superstars on this list, Ric Flair actually has been a semi-regular part of television lately, accompanying daughter Charlotte to the ring and tearing up with pride at her Divas' Championship win. While Flair is surely a proud father both on-screen and off, it still feels like the company could be doing more with one of the most interesting pro wrestlers of all time. Flair was retired from in-ring competition by Shawn Michaels in 2008, and the company was determined to never use him as an active competitor again. Still, throughout 2009, Flair competed in several angles, including a fight with Randy Orton that drew high ratings for Raw. Since Jerry Lawler's on-air heart attack in 2012, the company hasn't used any older talent (well, 60-plus) in a physical capacity. While that's unlikely to change, Flair's success in a non-wresting role shows that the fans care about him. Perhaps Flair can be appointed to a position as General Manager by WWE's Board of Directors and serve as a troubleshooting foil to the Authority. If nothing else, Raw could benefit from a weekly Ric Flair promo - it's not like anybody's going to change the channel while that's going on.
