One of the worst-kept secrets in professional wrestling right now is that Swerve Strickland intends on winning the AEW World Championship. He has declared his intention of winning the title on numerous occasions and plans to make history as the first Black AEW World Champion.
He has been built as one of the next true stars of his generation, with his heated feud and subsequent death match against ‘Hangman’ Adam Page solidifying his place among the greats. As of writing, it seems as though Strickland is on course to collide with his old adversary Page yet again, except this time, they have the AEW World Champion to deal with as well.
A potential three-way bout between the heavy-hitters would undoubtedly be thrilling, and the jeopardy of not having to pin the champion could work in Swerve’s favour, having beaten ‘Hangman’ twice already.
