10 Bold Predictions For WWE Draft
1. New Day Gets Disbanded
Speaking of that less than 10 second moment on Fox, where does that leave Kofi Kingston?
Kofimania came to an abrupt (and rather disrespectful) end on Friday Night SmackDown, and his future in the company is very unpredictable at this point. And when unpredictable futures line up with the WWE Draft, they tend to be good choices for shocking moments.
An increasingly likely New Day breakup could be in the works as a result.
With Kofi having established himself well (although some of that was certainly erased by Lesnar) as a legitimate threat in the singles title picture, returning him to tag team action will feel like a demotion at this point. That leads to the potential of Kofi being drafted independently from Big E and Xavier Woods, leaving him alone for the first time since New Day's debut together on 21 July 2014.
Or they could instead choose to allow Xavier Woods (not likely) or Big E (slightly more likely) to embark on their own Kofi-like journey as singles competitors.
But with Kofi being the bigger star and the backlash his loss brought to the WWE, it feels like Kingston needs a redemption story. But this redemption story needs to only have one main character this time around.
It may be time for a new day for The New Day.
