10 Bold WWE Predictions For 2017
6. Sami Zayn Wins WWE Championship
Okay, now this one is a bit of a longshot. In recent months, Sami Zayn has been woefully underutilised, bringing to mind the treatment of his former foe Cesaro. This week on Raw, general manager Mick Foley even compared Zayn to Eva Marie. Ouch.
However, Zayn is so incredibly talented that surely WWE will recognise what they have and push him accordingly in 2017. As one of the best sympathetic babyfaces in the business courtesy of his selling and incredible in ring skills, Zayn has all the attributes to be the next Daniel Bryan for the company, if they play their cards right.
It'd make sense for the company to use the current status of Zayn and have him fight his way to the top of the card over the course of a long-term storyline. Whether that means being traded to Smackdown where his skills would no doubt be better utilised or having to battle the monsters on Raw for his shot at the Universal title, a big world championship win for Zayn around Summerslam time would be a huge, emotional moment for the ages (you know, like his NXT title win was).
