10 Booking Decisions AEW Should Make Before Double Or Nothing 2023

9. Drop Stories Nobody Cares About

... please drop several of the stories you're clinging onto.

This whole 'The Firm now controls Matt Hardy and Private Party's contracts' angle is boring as f*ck. It's a weekly reminder that Stokely's brand new takeover group is second-rate, and it isn't even logical that he'd poke his nose into Andrade El Idolo's business anyway.

There are far too many background noise narratives going on in AEW's world these days. The Hardy/Party contract thing is dull, no-one wants to see Hook feuding with The Trustbusters, Nyla Rose stealing Jade Cargill's TBS Title sucks and more. So much for great storytelling or compelling drama, eh?

AEW should seriously think about dropping these stories from the lineup before getting to Double Or Nothing. Remember, that pay-per-view is regularly hyped as the biggest of the year, and it definitely doesn't need this rubbish hanging around creating a bad smell.

Is it admirable that Tony wants to give everyone something to do? Sure. Does that excuse lifeless storylines? Nope.
