10 Booking Decisions AEW Should Make Before Double Or Nothing 2023

Tony Khan must make some BIG changes to AEW before next year's "WrestleMania".

AEW in 2022 has been... erratic.

Backstage controversies have overshadowed pretty much everything that's happened on TV, and that's a shame when Tony Khan's company is still in its infancy. Everything should be rosy in the garden right now, but it isn't - all that nasty CM Punk/Elite/Sammy Guevara/Andrade El Idolo nonsense isn't quite finished yet.

Tony will have to put that behind him eventually though. AEW's future depends on his ability to do just that, and it's important to remember that Khan's own "WrestleMania season" looms. Yes, 'AEW 'Mania' is exactly what Double Or Nothing is to most AEW hardcores. It's the event that launched a revolution, after all, and it's the kind of show that can cure a lot of ills.

How do All Elite get there, and what decisions should they make on the road to DoN? The place has a lot to sort out off-screen, sure, but backstage disagreements are just part of the package. These are the booking steps Tony must make in meetings before his biggest pay-per-view of the entire year happens in late-May 2023.

Title changes, title deletions, brand new shows and mighty comebacks await.

10. Move On From The Firm

Yes, already.

Listen, The Firm sounded good on paper. Stokely Hathaway's new group debuted at All Out and helped pave the way for MJF to win the 'Casino Ladder Match'. Then, eh... things have been rough ever since. Start Googling something like, "The Firm AEW" and you'll see the top result is: "The Firm AEW members".

People don't even know who's in the stable! Honestly, at this point, just scrap the whole thing - MJF doesn't need the backup these days, and The Firm concept is only starting to hold Ethan Page back too. That dude should've leapt out of the American Top Team/Men Of The Year shadow into his own thing.

Instead, he's getting involved in stories that either don't focus on him or that fans don't really give a toss about. Speaking of which, that last point is a real problem on shows like Dynamite and Rampage these days. Attention, Tony Khan...
