10 Booking Decisions AEW Should Make Before Double Or Nothing 2023

2. Give MJF A Lengthy World Title Run

Jon Moxley MJF Tony Khan
AEW

Roman Reigns is the best all-rounder in pro wrestling, but MJF could reach that level someday. A bold statement, sure, but Friedman is fire on the mic and is only gonna get better and better in-ring with more experience. He's the definitive future AEW World Champion, put it that way.

Forget CM Punk - this is the guy you build your company around.

AEW might put its top prize on MJF at Full Gear on 19 November. Jon Moxley was never supposed to be around as World Champ recently anyway, and it'd make sense to start the MJF era off with a strong win after he calls his shot a month prior. Then, and only then, will Friedman look like the man.

It's hard to see anyone taking the belt from him before Double Or Nothing. A lengthy, dominant World Title reign is exactly what the product needs right now, and MJF is the man to deliver it. He'll drag lesser talkers up on the mic, then hang with the best in-ring.
